Science fiction writer Alexey Glushanovsky |
Alexey Glushanovsky is a fairly young writer, known for his cycle "The Way of the Demon". Having started writing in 2006, he sent four parts to the publisher in three years, which were favorably received by literary critics. Alexey graduated from the biological faculty of USU, but did not go to work in his specialty, but devoted himself to his favorite business. Although at first he admitted that he started writing his work to impress his beloved girl, and only then it turned into a full-fledged work. Glushanovsky's books can always be recognized by the ironic straightforward phrases and by the specific humor that permeates the entire work. Even in relatively serious moments, the text is easy to read, which is not achieved by every writer. "The Way of the Demon" consists of 4 volumes: "The Road to Magi", "The Path of the wizard", "The Path of the magician" and the book of the same name "The Path of the Demon". The plot of the work captures attention immediately from the first pages. A simple earthman Oleg accidentally dies from ordinary gopnik, but he is saved by the goddess of fire from another world, who will later become his wife. Oleg is possessed by a powerful demon, gradually merging with the consciousness of his master. And so all this mess goes to another world, where he enters the local Academy of magic at the Faculty of fire, while simultaneously improving the combat skills of an otherworldly entity. Oleg finds real friends, among whom there is even one charming vampire. Naturally, the main character gets into the most incredible stories, and naturally gets out of them, albeit not always with brilliance. He gets acquainted with ancient necromancers, recruits a demonic legion, subsequently opening a full–fledged branch of the so-called "hell" in the upper world, even fights with a local god - and wins! However, only in the description it looks smooth – in fact, Oleg overcomes many obstacles, so the book is read in one go. The apotheosis is his battle with the supposedly bright god and his wedding with Heliona. Arioch (that's the demon's name) not only manages his domain, but also patronizes the whole world. Of course, the fairy tale turned out to have a very good ending, but this does not cause rejection. Rather, on the contrary, Glushanovsky managed to create a unique atmosphere that is not typical of most intense fantasy works by other writers. Alexey Glushanovsky's style is not quite standard. His books are a little apart from the classics of fantasy, so perhaps not everyone will like them. But you should not judge a work by its cover, so fantasy fans should read The Path of the Demon on their own if they want to learn a little more about their favorite genre.
