What does a Junior Accountant do?
The Junior Accountant position supports the Finance team with regards to various financial and accounting functions, including but not limited to: client contracts, account receivables and billing, accounts payables, intercompany transactions, reimbursable transactions, financial statements, and general administration tasks. This individual will work closely with the Finance team and operations on AR, AP, and financial statements for AISI, AGTA and possibly ATH. This position will also complete several different audits, be involved in maintaining finance systems (for example: expense reporting system) and provide back-up for the accounting staff. Administrative tasks associated with this position could include, but are not limited to, mail distribution, supply tracking and ordering, and office reception tasks. Essential skills required include initiative, ability to work within a team, organizational skills, accountability, and excellent command of the English language. Individuals should be capable of continually expanding their knowledge base, managing multiple priorities, and working in an ever-changing, customer service-oriented environment.

Compensation: $50,000 - $55,000
Position/Classification: Full-Time; Exempt, Entry level
Hours of Work: Regular business hours, Monday-Friday

Required Experience and Education:
- Bachelor’s or equivalent college degree, preferred in Accounting or Finance
- 1+ years of accounting experience
- Experience working with various accounting software preferred
- Experience working with consolidated financial statements and multiple business entities preferred

Responsibilities:
- Assisting with maintaining client contracts; cooperating with operations on updating contracts/POs for AISI
- Manage related entries/bookings in the accounting system as well as reconciliations for AISI, AGTA and possibly ATH
- Compiles, analyzes, and presents reports using company’s Human Resource Information System (HRIS), payroll, and accounting and expense reporting systems
- Conducts regular and periodic audit of subaccounts (departmental codes/cost centers used for billing purposes) and other audits if needed for AISI, AGTA and possibly ATH
- Participates in the accounting period close process including reconciliations and posting journal entries
- Assist with maintaining management inputs for AISI
- Timely prepares, processes, files, scans, shreds, and tracks corporate data and documents
- Working on AP and expense reports as needed for AISI, AGTA and possibly ATH
- Manage Allyn fixed assets and depreciation for AGTA and possibly ATH
- Help maintain registrations with clients/vendors, and credit applications for AISI, AGTA and possibly ATH
- Works with mutli-functional and regional teams on resolving business issues
- Act as back up for other accounting staff
- Maintains SOPs
- Implement and execute new processes within accounting technology solutions, including payroll and accounting software and expense reporting systems
- Support HR Team as needed including administrative duties pertaining to reception, mail and supply orders
- Support company functions and meetings as needed
- Lead projects and other tasks assigned by CFO and Senior Finance Director
- Working on AR in AISI and AGTA, collections and Intercompany invoices as needed (Ensures all intercompany transactions are coded, booked, and billed correctly)
- Ensures all reimbursable expenses are coded, booked, and billed correctly for AISI
- Running different reports for billing, upon clients’ requests, and different internal reports for AISI
