Title: Group X Instructor

GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Group X Instructor is responsible for delivering a high energy, engaging, and safe group fitness experience for members of Retro Fitness – Lift RF Texas, LLC. This role plays a critical part in building community, increasing member engagement, and driving long term retention through consistently excellent group fitness programming.
Group X Instructors are expected to uphold the Retro Fitness brand, culture, and standards while creating an inclusive and motivating class environment for members of all fitness levels.
KEY DUTIES
- Deliver scheduled group fitness classes with energy, confidence, and clear instruction
- Provide complete classes including warm up, main workout, and cool down or stretch
- Cue proper technique and offer modifications to accommodate all fitness levels
- Maintain a safe workout environment and prioritize member well-being at all times
- Arrive early to prepare music, equipment, and studio space prior to each class
- Engage with members before and after class to build rapport and encourage participation
- Track class attendance and communicate participation trends with club leadership
- Maintain a professional image and represent the Retro Fitness brand at all times
- Attend required meetings, trainings, and continuing education sessions
- Follow all Retro Fitness – Lift RF Texas, LLC policies, procedures, and club rules
- Participate in Team Clean duties as assigned to support a clean and welcoming club environment
MINIMUM SKILLS / PERSONAL TRAIT REQUIREMENTS
- Outgoing, positive, and energetic personality
- Strong verbal communication and ability to lead a group confidently
- Passion for group fitness and member experience
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
- Ability to work in a fast paced, team oriented environment
- Capable of physical activity including standing for extended periods and lifting or moving small equipment such as step platforms and dumbbells
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Current CPR and AED certification required and must be maintained
- Group Fitness Certification from an approved organization required Approved organizations include AFAA, ACE, NASM, ISSA, or equivalent
- One or more years of group fitness instruction preferred
FITNESS DEPARTMENT POLICIES, PROCEDURES & EXPECTATIONS
Purpose
These guidelines define expectations for all Group X Instructors at Retro Fitness – Lift RF Texas, LLC. They exist to ensure consistent class quality, safety, professionalism, and an exceptional member experience. All Group X Instructors are expected to follow these standards to remain in good standing with the company.
ATTENDANCE & PUNCTUALITY EXPECTATIONS
- Instructors must arrive early enough to be fully prepared and ready to begin class on time
- Classes may not be cancelled or substituted without prior approval from club leadership except in emergency situations
- Dress code must align with Retro Fitness standards and branding
- Schedule availability must be communicated in advance and updated as required
- All scheduled classes are expected to be taught as assigned
SERVICE REQUIREMENTS
- Group X Instructors may not teach classes outside of Retro Fitness during scheduled Retro class times
- Only Retro Fitness approved programming and formats may be delivered
- Safety standards and club rules must be enforced consistently
- Instructors must follow all directions from Club Management and Corporate Leadership
