Position Summary
Implement, maintain, and support security and transaction system hardware and software. Provide technical support to security and transaction system end users, troubleshoot system-related issues, and contribute to the continual enhancement and improvement of security and transaction systems.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Administer access control and mobile access system hardware and software.
- Administer surveillance system hardware and software.
- Administer transaction system hardware and software.
- Upgrade and institute policies and procedures to improve the level of service provided to the security and transaction system users.
- Train the community on equipment usage.
- Answer support questions from end users and research problems.
- Monitor and manage how the level 1 helpdesk responds to issues as it pertains to the equipment and services that we support and maintain; produce monthly status reports.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software problems.
- Monitor network resources, assuring continuous availability and service.
- Maintain department websites, ensuring that they are up to date and easy to navigate.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other Attributes
- Bachelor's degree (bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred); Two years' experience in an information technology position.
- Knowledge of access control equipment and how it operates
- Knowledge of surveillance equipment and how it operates
- Proficiency with operating systems and software found on campus: Windows Server and Workstation, MS Office
- Good interpersonal skills in dealing with a diverse community
- Ability to assume project leadership
- Evidence of experience in performing duties and responsibilities with minimal supervision; along with the ability to communicate verbally and in writing
- Must be able to track and stay updated on multiple tasks at the same time
- Experience with computer hardware and software installations and troubleshooting is required
Unusual Working Conditions
Working after hours and over the weekend to provide support and complete assigned tasks are sometimes required
