Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist to support a variety of human resources functions. The role will have a heavy emphasis on recruitment and onboarding, but will also require involvement in benefits administration, payroll support, compliance, training, and employee engagement initiatives. This role partners closely with the HR Manager to ensure HR processes are efficient, accurate, compliant, and contribute to a positive employee experience across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Support recruiting efforts by monitoring job postings, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and coordinating new hire onboarding.
- Maintain employee records and process personnel changes within HR systems.
- Assist with benefits administration, payroll processing, and employee payroll inquiries.
- Support employee relations, engagement programs, recognition initiatives, and company events.
- Serve as a resource for employee questions regarding policies, benefits, payroll, and other HR-related matters.
- Help ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, company policies, and HR best practices.
- Partner with the HR Manager to support company-wide training and employee development initiatives.
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of Human Resources experience, including but not limited to:
- Recruiting and onboarding
- Payroll processing (previous experience with Paylocity is a plus)
- Benefits administration
- Employee relations
The Ideal Candidate Will
- Enjoy working with and supporting employees on a day-to-day basis
- Demonstrate strong administrative and organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Have experience recruiting candidates using applicant tracking sytems, job boards, and social media platforms
- Possess a working knowledge of payroll processing and payroll tax requirements in Maryland and Pennsylvania
- Have familiarity with ACA, FMLA, Workers' Compensation, and other employment-related compliance requirements
- Communicate effectively with employees and managers at all levels of the organization
- Handle confidential information with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
- This is a full-time, in-office position.
- Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, generally 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Travel
Travel will be infrequent but may be requested to our Pittsburgh, PA and Harrisburg, PA locations.
