Position Description
The Human Resources Assistant provides administrative support for the daily operations of the Human Resources department. This position assists with recruiting, onboarding, HR administration, payroll and benefits support, employee records, and general HR functions while ensuring a positive experience for employees throughout the employment lifecycle.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with recruitment activities, including posting job openings, reviewing applications, scheduling interviews, and coordinating candidate communications.
- Support the onboarding process by preparing new hire documentation, scheduling pre-employment requirements, and tracking onboarding completion.
- Prepare employment agreements, offer letters, and other HR documentation.
- Maintain accurate employee personnel files and HR records.
- Complete and verify I-9 documentation and assist with employment eligibility compliance.
- Assist with background checks, drug screenings, and employment verifications.
- Support payroll processing by entering and verifying employee information and meeting payroll deadlines.
- Respond to employee questions regarding HR policies, payroll, benefits, and general employment matters.
- Assist employees with benefit enrollments, qualifying life events, and benefits-related documentation.
- Prepare COBRA notifications and other employee benefit communications.
- Coordinate employee offboarding, including termination paperwork, system access updates, and company property collection.
- Process employment status changes within the HRIS (Paycom).
- Maintain HR tracking spreadsheets, reports, and departmental records.
- Assist with internal HR audits and compliance documentation.
- Create and update HR forms, onboarding materials, and employee communications.
- Order office supplies and other HR-related materials.
- Coordinate orientation sessions and assist with new hire presentations.
- Support employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and campus events.
- Provide administrative support for HR projects and departmental initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- 2–4 years of Human Resources or HR administrative experience required.
- Knowledge of HRIS systems (Paycom experience preferred).
- Experience with applicant tracking systems (Workable experience preferred).
- Must be local to the Central Florida area.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
