THE ROLE
We are looking for a contract Specifications Specialist. The Specifications Specialist will be responsible for reviewing AG1 raw material specifications and providing recommendations to make the necessary updates to ensure consistency and excellence in product quality and engineering which ensure the specifications are flexible enough to help the sourcing team find multiple suppliers to source the ingredients. The Specifications Specialist will work in close collaboration with the Quality and Procurement teams to support the specifications development and improvement of raw materials and their suppliers both internally and with AG1?s contract manufacturers.

This is a 3-month long contractor engagement and is 100% remote.

WHAT YOU?LL DO
Build Product Specifications designed for Quality Control to support the manufacturing of AG1 products.
Review updated raw material documentation for changes compared to the previously accepted versions.
Regularly engage with AG1 quality personnel to ensure they provide updated documentation in a timely manner.
Work with the AG1 personnel to ensure external partners have the most up-to-date raw material documentation.
Logging, tracking and maintaining product specification records in the PLM database.
Plan and maintain the flow of electronic controlled documents, department files and resources materials with a high degree of accuracy and recall.
Familiar with relevant international regulations, standards, and industry best practices to ensure AG1 quality compliance practices are current and effective.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Product Development and Innovation to provide recommendations and a thorough review of the specs.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
3-5 years of experience in the food, pharmaceutical or related manufacturing industry; preferably within the Dietary Supplement industry.
Bachelor?s degree in biology chemistry, food science, or microbiology; preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge in GMP?s, GLPs, quality systems, HACCP, sanitation, and allergen management, as well as FDA regulations.
Excellent analytical capability with strong attention to detail and knowledge in food safety.
Excels in complex problem solving and critical thinking, particularly in troubleshooting issues with microbial growth, allergen and botanical reactions, and testing.
Ability to meet deadlines and establish goals and objectives in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in proofreading, data entry and issue spotting, and verbal/written communication skills.
Ability to address gaps in processes and propose effective improvements.
