Night Operations Manager

Position Summary:

This position is for EPES Transport, Inc., a division of Penske Logistics, based in Greensboro, North Carolina. Supervises, directs and develops Operations staff after hours. Ensures service commitments to customers are met through closely working with customers, planners, sales, driver managers, terminal managers, and CSR?s and communicates any exceptions appropriately.

This Position is located in Greensboro, NC

Shift: Sunday - Thursday 3pm - 12 midnight

Major Responsibilities:

? Responsible for direction, development and management of all operations personnel 2nd or 3rd shift in Greensboro NC, fills in as needed.

? Coordinates and communicates with Load Planners, Customer Service, Driver managers across all shifts to ensure needs are met and commitments are followed thru, while maximizing utilization of the fleet, service to customers, retention of drivers and cost control.

? Coordinates with dedicated operations, including on site managers, to ensure resources are utilized between General Commodities and dedicated divisions.

? Responsible for developing options for load recovery due to breakdown / accident, emergency shipments.

? Ensures all safety and maintenance initiatives are supported.

? Demonstrates support to the Epes Transport System, Penske Quality System and its objectives, as applicable.

? Other projects and tasks as assigned.


Qualifications:

High School Diploma/GED required.

One plus years of experience in Transportation/Supply Chain required.

Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and sense of urgency

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Must be able to learn and regularly operate various computer systems across different platforms

Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with customers as well as Penske associates

Ability to use critical thinking to analyze information, communicate appropriately, make decisions within the framework of the SOP, solve problems, evaluate results, and determine if further action is needed.

Ability to work First, Second and Third shifts as needed. Flexibility with scheduling required

Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job

Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background Investigation, (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
