Driver Manager

Position Summary:

This position is for EPES Transport, Inc., a division of Penske Logistics, based in Greensboro, North Carolina. The Driver Manager will direct, coordinate, and supervise the activities of drivers to ensure productivity of both drivers and equipment. They will maintain constant communication with drivers through various communication devices with focus on driver utilization, retention, idle time, fuel compliance, and out of route miles. The Driver Manger will also focus on key metrics for company success regarding safety, hours of service, customer satisfaction (on time service), productivity and compliance with company policy, and procedure.

This Position is located in Greensboro, NC. and is an onsite position
Shift: Monday - Friday 6am- 4:30pm.

Major Responsibilities:

? Monitor and manage dispatch system for 25+ Drivers (ex.ETA/PTA/ Load Assignments, Utilization, Hometime)

? Manages all vacation, time off and payroll inquiries-based company, driver and customer needs.

? Train and Counsel Drivers including new driver onboarding on policies, initiatives and expectations with focus on Driver Retention. (Ex. HOS, Safety, utilization, Check-Ins)

? Coordinate with Penske Truck Leasing for all vehicle maintenance.

? Communicate with Load Planning and Customer Service to meet customer, driver and company needs.

? Demonstrates support to the Penske?s Quality System and its objectives, as applicable.

? Other projects and tasks as assigned.


Qualifications:

High School Diploma/GED required.

Minimum 2 years of experience in transportation

Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and sense of urgency

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Must be able to learn and regularly operate various computer systems across different platforms

Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with customers as well as Penske associates

Ability to use critical thinking to analyze information, communicate appropriately, make decisions within the framework of the SOP, solve problems, evaluate results, and determine if further action is needed.

Ability to work First, Second and Third shifts as needed. Flexibility with scheduling required

Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job

Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background Investigation, (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
