Job Description
The Design Cost team within Industrial System Analytics (ISA) of the Global Data Insights & Analytics (GDIA) organization is focused on leveraging data to improve Ford's business decisions and operations across the globe. We act as a trusted advisor providing data, advanced analytics and AI/ML, and insights to support, optimize the Design Cost process within Ford. Our mission is to unleash the power of data to drive value and help transform Ford through proactive, actionable, evidence-based decision making.

High-touch approach to support business partners + add value to problem formulation, solution, and decision-making
Play a complementary, consultative, and strategic role with our business partners, recognizing that there is also a need for day-to-day tactical support
Collaborate with other GDIA functions to promote an enterprise view and enable cross-skill-team dialogue and synergy
Leverage foundational GDIA capabilities like the Data platform, AI/ML, LLM and COEs to benefit our business partners


This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned leader and technologist to play a crucial role in Ford's data-driven approach to business and helping the company use insights to gain a competitive advantage.

Responsibilities
Position Responsibilities:

Lead a cross-functional team of data scientists, software engineers, and data engineers to build, grow and maintain the Design Cost Analytics suite of products and services
Lead & facilitate strategic conversations and prioritization within the team, as well as with senior leaders of each domain
Create Product Line roadmap aligned to Design Cost business objectives and be accountable for delivery of technology solutions. Establish KPIs, measure the effectiveness and adjust the delivery plan based on learning, user, and stakeholder feedback.
Manage financials ? monthly forecasts and headcount across investments and operations
Share best practices, identify synergies & risks, duplicative efforts, team collaboration, connecting the dots across domains, etc.
Be the catalyst for technology, software craftsmanship, DevOps, and Agile practices to enable professionalism and culture across your teams
Support strategic reviews with GDIA senior leaders, governance reviews with business partners, and internal product reviews
Develop the PDO and technical skills of your teams with a focus on continuous improvement
Champion talent acquisition, engagement, and retention; Promote an engaged, diverse & inclusive global team with exciting work and rewarding careers
Continue to grow leadership capability within GDIA


Position Requirements:

6+ years experience building and managing high performing teams
Ability to quickly learn and understand complex environments and team dynamics
Deep troubleshooting skills and capabilities to lead a triage team across a complex ecosystem
Proven ability to build relationships with IT teams, business partners and external suppliers to drive technology transformation
Excellent communication, storytelling, and relationship-building skills
Strong strategic thinking and coordination skills, anticipating the needs of the team
Collaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment, ability to solve problems and actively incorporate input from various sources
Passion to keep the teams motivated to drive for outcomes, encourage a sense of urgency, and build attention to detail
Values and leverages diversity and has a passion for talent development


Qualifications
Required Skills:

Technical expertise/hands on experience developing AI/ML and optimization applications
Knowledge of deploying analytical solutions on GCP
Connect Vehicle Data experience is a big plus
Ability to influence leaders and team members in a diplomatic way
Ability to provide a clear point of view and challenge respectfully when necessary
Possess a high tolerance for ambiguity and ever-changing environment
Willingness to mentor and teach others


Qualifications:

Masters or PhD. is preferred in a Quantitative field such as Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Physics, Mathematics or Engineering
