"Michigan startup eyes Tell City, IN. for 70 jobs"
WGS Global Services LC, a startup provider of machining and light assembly services, is placing its newest production facility in Tell City and plans to add up to 70 new jobs by 2013.

The Flint, Mich.-based company, which provides a variety of manufacturing and logistics services to customers in the automotive, defense and commercial manufacturing industries, will invest $279,000 to lease and equip a 22,500 square-foot facility to launch its first independent Indiana production operation, the Indiana Economic Development Corp. said in a news release.

WGS employs nearly 20 people in Tell City, a small south-central Indiana community near the Ohio River, and will continue hiring manufacturing, distribution and inspections associates as new business is acquired.

"The warm welcome and reception the WGS organization has received in Indiana and Tell City has been exceptional. WGS extends our thanks to the Perry County Development Corporation and the state for their assistance in making this opportunity a reality," said William Goetz, president and chief executive officer of WGS Global Services. "WGS is pleased to be a contributor to the Tell City community and local businesses. Indiana is a great place to do business, expand our operations and we are excited about continuing to search for future growth opportunities."

IEDC offered the two-year-old company up to $275,000 in performance-based tax credits based on the company's job creation plans.
