Cedar Creek is a 1,100 MW simple-cycle gas turbine power project entering startup. As Electrical Commissioning Engineer you are the owner's witness and technical judgement on the electrical systems: generators, switchgear, transformers, protection and the electrical balance of plant.
What you get to do:
- Review electrical commissioning and test procedures before execution.
- Witness protection relay testing, primary injection and energization.
- Witness generator testing and excitation system commissioning.
- Track electrical system readiness through to turnover.
- Drive resolution of electrical startup issues with the contractor and vendors.
- Support performance testing of electrical systems.
- Monitor preservation and storage of electrical equipment through commissioning.
What you bring to the role:
- 10+ years commissioning electrical systems on power plants.
- Hands-on experience with generator and protection system commissioning.
- Working knowledge of NFPA 70E and safe switching practice.
- Proficiency with Bluebeam Revu, Procore and AI tools used with human verification.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, or equivalent years of field experience.
Nice to have:
- Owner-side commissioning experience.
- OSHA 30 — provided by the project after mobilization if you do not already hold it.
