Summary/Objective
The HR & Accounting Assistant provides administrative support to both the Human Resources and Accounting departments, with the primary focus on Human Resources. This entry-level position assists with recruiting, onboarding, employee records, training administration, benefits administration, payroll support, and general HR functions while also providing backup and administrative support for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities.

- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.
- Manage the onboarding process for new hires and maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation. Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
- Prepare employment letters, forms, and HR documentation for policy rollout, new hire onboarding, or training updates as requested by Supervisors or HR Manager.
- Assist with recruiting activities including posting job openings, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates.
- Assist with proactive communications, employee relations/recognition and appreciation programs.
- Assist with leave administration, attendance tracking, and timekeeping records.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee and company information.
- Provide administrative support for HR projects, policy updates, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with processing vendor invoices and Accounts Payable documentation.
- Support Accounts Receivable activities including filing, customer correspondence, and payment tracking.
- Maintain accounting records and organize financial documentation.
- Assist with data entry and reconciliation of accounting records.
- Prepare reports and spreadsheets as requested.
- Provide backup support during vacations or peak workloads.
- Any/all other duties as assigned.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing/office environment. Must be able to operate a computer/keyboard, ability to use phone, and sit for extended periods of time. Communicate using speech, hearing, written, and vision skills. May also work occasionally on the production floor requiring the use of safety equipment to include, but not limited to- safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel toed work boots or shoes.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position at 40 hours per week. General business hours are 6:30 am- 5:00 pm. this position follows a specific work schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 am- 4:30 pm. Occasional overtime, evening and weekend work may be required to meet business demands.
Compensation
Our current hiring pay range for this position is $20- $27. This hiring pay range is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and, in some instances, may include education, work experience, knowledge, skills and certifications.
In addition to this base pay, Rockford Ball Screw employees are eligible for a bonus. Depending on your position you may be categorized into different tiers in the quarterly or annual bonus plan. Currently, this position is classified as a Quarterly Bonus within the Individual Contributor tier.

Requirements
Required Education and Experience
- Must be 18 years or older.
- High School Diploma/GED equivalent or significant relevant work experience.
- Minimum of 1 year of human resource experience serving 25+ employees.
- Minimum of 1 year experience with HRIS, Paylocity preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year experience handling employee records and HR documentation.
- Minimum of 1 year experience handling timecards.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Strong knowledge with a variety of organizational concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize workload.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Experience in assisting with recruitment, hiring processes and new employee onboarding.
- Experience with handling employee inquiries, conflict resolution, or workplace investigations.
- Experience with workplace safety policies and training.
