SUMMARY
Wiz is looking for an experienced Senior Revenue Accountant to join our Finance team. This role will be responsible for administering and scaling our end-to-end global commissions accounting operations in compliance with ASC 606 and US GAAP, while driving continuous process automation across commission and revenue workflows. This role will prioritize sales compensation accounting as a primary focus while serving as an agile contributor to broader revenue accounting, period-end close, and system optimization initiatives. We are open to hybrid candidates located in either NYC, San Francisco, or Chicago.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Administer the end-to-end commissions accounting process, including monthly accruals, capitalization, amortization, and reporting in accordance with ASC 606 and US GAAP
- Drive automation and workflow improvements across global commissions and revenue accounting processes to improve speed, scalability, and precision
- Partner cross-functionally with Sales Operations, FP&A, and Revenue Accounting to ensure accurate and timely journal entries
- Assist in determining global revenue recognition under ASC 606, supporting period-end close processes for revenue and billing, and managing balance sheet reconciliations as bandwidth allows
- Support interim and annual audits by providing quantitative analysis and documentation for commissions and revenue matters while enforcing SOX compliance and internal controls
- Evaluate accounting guidance for new sales compensation plans, SPIFFs, plan design modifications, and adhoc revenue related matters
- Support special accounting projects and process improvement initiatives across the broader Finance organization as needed
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred
- 5+ years of relevant accounting, commissions operations, or revenue accounting experience within a global high-tech or SaaS company
- Extensive knowledge of US GAAP (ASC 606), revenue recognition principles, deferred contract costs, and SaaS industry practices – Must
- Hands-on experience with NetSuite and a commissions platform such as CaptivateIQ (or similar: Spiff, Xactly, etc.) – Strong advantage
- Proven track record of optimizing and automating accounting processes and financial workflows
- Strong Excel skills and proficiency in Google Workspace
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, manage tight deadlines, handle competing priorities, and maintain rigorous attention to detail
