About DMR Technologies

DMR Technologies is a Louisiana-based drone manufacturer developing advanced unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) for agriculture, defense, and commercial applications.

Built on the Bayou, DMR combines hands-on manufacturing with innovative drone technology to build aircraft designed to solve real-world problems. We're growing our team in Lafayette and looking for mechanically or electrically inclined individuals who want to build, assemble, and work with cutting-edge drone technology.

Position Overview

DMR Technologies is seeking an Entry-Level Drone Assembly Technician with strong mechanical or electrical aptitude and a desire to develop hands-on technical skills in drone manufacturing.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys working with tools, assembling equipment, troubleshooting mechanical or electrical systems, and learning how things work.

Prior drone experience, hobbyist drone-building experience, or an FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate is a plus—but not required. We are willing to train the right person who demonstrates strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.

Candidates with backgrounds in automotive repair, electrical work, electronics, industrial maintenance, robotics, aviation, or hands-on technical hobbies are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

Assemble, build, and configure unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and drone components.
Perform mechanical assembly, wiring, soldering, and basic electrical connections.
Install motors, propellers, landing gear, sensors, cameras, batteries, and other drone components.
Follow assembly instructions, technical drawings, and standard operating procedures.
Inspect components and completed assemblies for quality, accuracy, and workmanship.
Assist with drone testing, troubleshooting, and quality control.
Identify mechanical or electrical issues and assist with repairs.
Maintain an organized, safe, and efficient work environment.
Support production, inventory, and other manufacturing activities as needed.

Required Qualifications

Strong mechanical or electrical aptitude.
Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, or basic technical equipment.
Ability to follow detailed instructions and complete tasks accurately.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Willingness to learn new technologies, tools, and manufacturing processes.
Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
Ability to work on-site in Lafayette, Louisiana.

No college degree or previous professional drone manufacturing experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with one or more of the following:

FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate.
Previous drone, UAV, or UAS experience.
Experience building, repairing, or flying drones as a hobby.
Experience with RC aircraft, robotics, or other electronic systems.
Mechanical, electrical, automotive, or industrial maintenance experience.
Soldering, wiring, electronics assembly, or troubleshooting experience.
Aviation, aerospace, or manufacturing experience.
Technical school, vocational training, or relevant hands-on coursework.

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is naturally curious, mechanically inclined, and enjoys figuring out how things work.

You might be a great fit if you:

Have always enjoyed taking things apart and putting them back together.
Work on cars, trucks, motorcycles, RC aircraft, drones, or electronics.
Have strong hands-on skills but are looking for an opportunity to develop them professionally.
Want to learn how advanced unmanned aircraft are built, tested, and deployed.
Take pride in building something correctly and seeing the finished product fly.

We're more interested in your aptitude, work ethic, and willingness to learn than a long resume.

What DMR Offers

Opportunity to enter the growing drone manufacturing and aerospace industry.
Hands-on training with advanced unmanned aircraft systems.
Opportunity to develop mechanical, electrical, and technical skills.
Exposure to drone assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and manufacturing.
A chance to grow with a Louisiana-based technology company.
The opportunity to contribute to products serving agriculture, defense, and commercial markets.

How to Apply

If you're mechanically or electrically inclined, enjoy working with your hands, and want to be part of a growing drone manufacturing company, we encourage you to apply.

Whether you have experience building drones, hold an FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate, or simply have the technical aptitude and desire to learn, we'd like to hear from you.
