Zurich Insurance Group, a commercial P&C insurance provider, plans to add 150 jobs to its workforce in Chicago, where it already employs 350 people.

Zurich says Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel announced the additional jobs July 23. In a statement, Emanuel said Chicago is an attractive location for employers and has a highly skilled workforce.

Mike Foley, CEO of North America Commercial for Zurich Insurance Group, calls Chicago "a hub for the global insurance market" and says it makes sense for Zurich to expand its presence in the city. In addition to its Chicago workforce, Zurich employs more than 2,500 people at its North American headquarters in Schaumburg, Ill.
