TaskRabbit Hiring 10 Engineers
San Francisco's TaskRabbit will hire up to 10 new engineering employees this year after raising $13 million in venture capital in July from investors including the Founders Fund.
The 55-person company was founded in 2008 by Leah Busque. TaskRabbit makes platform that connects people who need tasks done with people willing to do those tasks for a fee. Across nine U.S., cities, including Boston, San Francisco and New York, there are about 4,000 TaskRabbits willing to pick up the laundry of strangers or clean their floors.
The company wants to hire engineers versed in Ruby on Rails, jQuerym, Backbone.js and MySQL, said Vice President of Engineering Brian Leonard. The company also wants to hire iOS and Android developers.
Leonard said he looks for employees who believe in the company's mission. "The ability to get real things done for real people in the real world isn't something that technologists get to do all time, so I look for passion around that idea," he said.
Compensation can range widely depending on experience and skill set, Leonard said, with cash salaries ranging from $75,000 to $200,000. Equity is also included for new hires. The company declined to discuss its revenue. |
