AHAlife.com to Hire 15 people in New York, NY |

Luxury online retailer AHAlife will hire another 15 employees this year after raising $10.1 million in new venture capital late last month. The funding round was led by Rakuten, and included DCM and FirstMark Capital.
Founded in 2010 by MIT-trained Shauna Mei, AHAlife will be hiring software engineers, product managers as well as user experience and user interface experts. Non-engineering hires will include merchandising and marketing professionals.
"We look for three years experience in Python," Mei said. "Our company has a very flat culture and we look for people who are high-energy, high-IQ, and teamwork-oriented."
The company plans to increase its foothold among international consumers, though the majority of its business is still done in the U.S., Mei said. She declined to discuss the company's revenues.
AHAlife is also trying to differentiate itself from flash sales sites like Gilt Groupe and Fab.com, which offer discounts on high-end items.
"Our target customers are not deal hunters, they're interested in buying for quality." Mei said. "We are very much anti-flash-sales." |
